As a big fan of Saveur.com, I’m here to spread the word, sharing their video on how to peel garlic in less than 10 seconds. The technique works but it does make Boz and Gracie bark and me don my earplugs.

  1. That is crazy! Now I won’t wake myself at night up due to the smell of garlic on my hands anymore. Goodness knows I need all the beauty sleep I can get at this point.

  2. I saw this video the other day and decided to improvise, putting my garlic cloves into a mason jar with a lid and shook it. It did a pretty good job, but not *all* of the cloves were peeled. Next time I will cut each end of the cloves before using the jar and see how that goes.

  3. Wow, he just used one amazing palm technique and the garlic separated with ease. I thought he was going to use an innovative tool. Shaking the garlic in a covered pan to peel them is amazing. This video is very helpful and I am excited to learn more.

  4. WHAT!??! That was totally amazing. I can’t wait to see how it works. I thought I was fancy for smashing each clove to peel it, but that still takes forever. This looks like MAGIC!

  5. Love, love, love it!!! Thank you, thank you…I deplore peeling garlic. I agree with Kara – this is magic..and thank you Tom for sharing. You have saved me in the kitchen. 🙂

  6. How cool !! And one can also alleviate any stress at
the same time!! I would love to see a video of you doing it and Boz & Gracie barking! 😀 They are so
cute!! This is so great thanks for sharing! 🙂

  7. Holy halitosis, Batman! What the ??? I had resorted to buying frozen, pureed Isreali garlic cubes from TJ’s to avoid the hot mess that is peeling garlic. Who knew it was this easy?? I may need to give this a try tonight with the pot roast we’re having. Thanks!

  8. Well, who knew?!!! Now, I just need two bowls like that or the same size! I should definitely buy some noisy ones!

Thanks for sharing since I hate peeling garlic and cook with fresh garlic a lot…

  9. The video takes way longer than the peeling process itself. That is impressive! But does it really work? I will have to try this soon. Clarence might go a little berserk too. That’s fun.
